Field report 17: The Oregon Campaign

20/3 - 2015

Hello and welcome to our seventeenth field report!

The Oregon Campaign

A little less than a month ago, the two danish founders of Campfire Games, Emil Alexander Hansen (Fancy Sweetroll) and Mads Støjko Larsen (TrustyJam) had the chance to visit the historical advisor of the team, George Crecy in Oregon. The field trip only lasted three days but George still managed to present (and talk about!) a whole lot of relevant civil war related items as well as experiences: Presentations at a local museum, a chance to try on the union uniform, demonstrations of correct soldier movements as well as a visit to the gunrange where black powder weapons were fired just to name a few.

It felt great to be able to see and handle items from a period that has been the center of our attention for the past three years as well as being able to bring videos/images and experiences back home to the rest of the team.

A huge thanks to George Crecy for being an excellent host!

Below are a few images of the three days The Oregon Campaign lasted.

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

We've just updated the reload animation as well as the Springfield M1861 rifle ingame. Here is a short demonstration video of it:

The video has replaced the old one located at our newly released features page: https://warofrights.com/Features which contains quite a few demonstration videos. We'll be updating or adding new videos there as we progress with the development so be sure to check the site from time to time.

The Sharps Rifle

The Sharps rifle model 1859 has just been completed. Here is a few screenshots of it ingame:

We were recently joined by our new programmer Forrest Haller who's been working on making the first person view more authentic. We're happy to have him onboard!

That's all for now. Until next time, have a good one!
